Florian's GPE Stuff
The Plan
I'm known to be the one who can't stop coding on GPE applications... but in
fact i do some other things too. (... like writing GPE documentation). Did i
mention that i code GPE applications? ;-)
I have nice collection of things to do for GPE, so if you want to help
please do.
- Introduce a new concept for configuration and hardware control.
- Include device type detection in gpe-conf (in progress).
- Improve the timezone selection tool (done) and the pcmcia applet.
- Write a complete GPE development howto (in progress).
- Create a document describing GPE application design and guidelines.
- Collect information about porting GPE to a new device and document where
all the configuration bits are stored (in progress).
- Extend proper support to other mobile devices running Linux.
- Plugin support for gpe-today and integration into gpe-appmgr tab.
- Create a simple backup tool.
- Support for easier to use installation targets in gpe-package like a
list of available themes and complete language support for all installed
applications.
- Perform a detailed memory awareness analysis and improvement study of GTK and a GPE based device.
- Write a new, cool gpe-desktop application with infoprints and plugin
support.
- Review and improve GPE PIM data structures.
- Introduce colours to mark PIM categories. (in progress)
- Improve keyboard control in gpe-calendar.
- Write or adapt a GTK based panel.
- Add tools and support for cellphones (syncing, voice, sms)
- Create a notes application supporting voice, text and sketch notes.
- An opensync gui.

A pile of GPE documentation and useful links is located on the documentation page.
